April 30, 2008I just wanna say...
If my boyfriend or husband ever called me 'little girl' in an endearing way, I'd melt.

April 3, 2008Bored and too tired to sleep...
Drinking a chocolate milkshake at 9:30pm. Not good. Milkshakes make me thirsty. Yea, super random. Anyway...
I think I'll turn this into a favorite artists of the month journal. According to iTunes and Lastfm: 10. Weezer- Particularily the Blue and Pinkerton albums. The Blue Album has my favorite song ever by them on it. 'Say It Ain't So'. For seriously, I listen to it everyday. No lie. And of course, 'Only In Dreams' makes me tear up everytime. Hehe. And for Pinkerton, hello? El Scorcho is my boyfriend. Hahaha.. 9. Coralie Clement- You know, I totally forgot to put her on my iPod before I got this laptop, then I realized that she wasnt on here. I've been listening to her at least once everyday since. I'm so sorry, Coralie. How could I forget you? 8. Wolfmother- Ugh, I can't get enough of these fools. What does 'White Unicorn' and 'Colossal' do to me? You don't wanna know. 7. The Shins- These dudes really should be up higher, but oh well. They have what could quite possibly be my favorite song ever one day, which is 'Sleeping Lessons'. Dude, I could be in the crappiest mood and that song ALWAYS makes me feel better. No lie. 6. Cat Power- One of my heroes :-) I love her. I've been listening a lot to The Greatest and You Are Free albums and obviously, they are owning Gatsby these days. Haha. 5. Interpol- Are you serious? Turn On The Bright Lights, is like, one of my fav albums ever. 'PDA' and 'NARC' are like, daily must-listen-before-I-go-to-bed-or-you-suck-at-life songs. And '5'...and 'Specialist', if just for the drums and bass (even though PDA has the best bassline out all their songs except 'Untitled.' 4. Feist- Another one of my girlfriends:-) I think my favorite songs on The Reminder is 'Limit To Your Love' and 'The Water'. Her voice is so pretty, its like, ridiculous. I hate her. 3. Rufus Wainwright- Okay, seriously. I'm really excited about this guy and his stupid talent. Why does he have to be so awesome? What is he some kind of freak? (If you wanna see just how stupid good he is at piano, check him out. I posted him in my vids). One of my friends turned me on to him and I've been, like, owned by him ever since. Dude, you know what song did it? Do you? 'The Art Teacher.' You know why? These lyrics: He was not that much older than I was He had taken our class to the Metropolitan Museum He asked us what our favorite work of art was, But never could I tell it was him Oh, I wish I could tell him -- Oh, I wish I could have told him Then this: Here I am in this uniformish, pant-suit sort of thing, (lol) Thinking of the art teacher I was just a girl then; Never have I loved since then No, never have I loved any other man *dead* And dont ask me why I identify so well with that song...=P 2. Fiona Apple- I love this girl so much. I mean, she's got this...timeless sound that is just so addicting its crazy. I think I hate her too(which means I love her). She's another one of my heroes. Fav's this week by Miss Fiona: Paper Bag, O'Sailor, and First Taste. Hmmm. Hahaha... 1. Radiohead- These guys are just crazy. So yeah, its about right that they are number one for this week. I've been going back and forth between Amnesiac and Ok Computer over and over again. And know what else? I think I figured out the time signature for 'Pyramid Song'. I'd like to say its 4/4. Cuz if you start with 4 when the piano comes in, you can count on that beat throughout the song. But my friend says its 6/8. I have yet to show it to my dad. Maybe he can tell us for sure. But anyway. Yea, they're geniouses. I hate them.*shrugs* Anyhoo... So yea, that's what's being played most on my dear Gatsby these days :-) It's almost 10 now. Time for bed. Sweet dreams of jelly beans and peanuts! -Stanz

March 7, 2008O rly? Ya rly.Kinda bored and nauseous this evening, so I thought I would write ya'll up a little update of whats been a-going on..hehe... Ugh, I'm so nauseous. Sorry about that...
Anyway, school has been going okay. Took history and psych tests, which I passed. Yayness. And I think I passed my Art test, but not sure. Will find that out on Monday. Took another psych test which was easy enough, but we will see... Listening to A LOT of music lately. Well, always have, but seriously, its bordering on the ridiculous, I think. I listen to Gatsby(the name of my iPod) obsessivly and I am constantly playing music on my CD player or on Stella(the name of my laptop). Eh..its the way I grew up I suppose. Music was always playing somewhere. I dont like being in a room or car where it is completly quiet. There must be music playing...unless its rap, gospel or country...heck, I'll take rap over country or gospel. Goodness. But yea, can't have quiet. haha. Or maybe its just me not being able to be alone with myself...hehe. Learned that in psych class... Listening to a lot of Weezer and Depeche Mode lately. I mean, yes Interpol is a staple as is The Shins. Also, The Arcade Fire has been sneaking in there as well. My brother had always been into them, but I never much paid them that much attention until recently. I find them to be very amazing. THIS made my life: http://youtube.com/watch?v=wjxef8AfVQg. If you are not impressed by that at all, then you need to be cut. Srsly. Also rediscovering Franz Ferdinand, self titled album to be specific, and as for Interpol, Turn On The Bright Lights. My fav song by them for the month is in my playlist. Hehehe. Loving me some Strawberry Fields as well. Oh yes, Beatles is a staple too. Haha. I'm crazy about 'em. I think I am driving people a little mad with all these resurgances. Haha. I dont think people understand that, Yes, I listen to a ton of different artists everyday...no lie! Haha... Ya, so..what else. Yes, I want to see Motion City Soundtrack next month but they are playing with Panic At The Disco and I kinda don't wanna see them. Eh...it depends on what my brother and sis wanna' do. We will see... So now I am going to bed because I am sleepy. And I find that in such cases, when one is sleeply and needs to go to bed, it is just as best as it is desirable to do so. Haha.
Why, OF COURSE I know I am ridiculous...
Goodnite and sweet dreams of apple juice...<3

February 18, 2008Too tired to come up with a title journal entry...So today was a pretty good day. I took my mom out to breakfast, then went to the book store and picked up a few books, then went shopping. I bought Across The Universe. I'd wanted to see it while it was still in theatres, but I never got around to it. Now I wish I did. I enjoyed it very much. And to all those who care to read my journals, I fully encourage you to check that movie out if you haven't already. Its quite stupendous.:-) So I just got a new laptop too. But it's really confusing. Its a Vista and everything is different. And for someone like me who has no patience for this kinda thing, it's quite frusturating. I do think I am getting the hang of it, though. I got a new iPod as well(the 80gb) and I was trying to figure out how to transfer all my stuff from my old computer to this one. I almost pulled my hair out trying to do so and in the end, decided I would just leave everything for my iPod on my other computer and just use this one for everything else. I also wanted to transfer all my vids and pictures as well and I don't think there is a way to that, so I'll just leave it as it is. Let's see, what else is new... Um, I saw Editors, Hot Hot Heat and Louis XIV last weekend. It was pretty awesome. I have to admit, I did not know much or anything about HHH and Louis XIV, but was quite impressed upon seeing them live. I actually met the lead singer from Louis XIV. Jason Hill, I believe his name is. Its funny, he was just walking around. But I heard that tends to happen a lot in the theatre where I saw them(Warfield in SF). I think my cousin met HHH. They were just walking around too. Editors were amazing. I have pics, should you care to look. We met some awesome people there who were kind enough to send me pictures that were taken with their REAL cameras, not crappy phone pics like I have:/ All in all, it was an awesome time. I plan on seeing Motion City Soundtrack and Angels and Airwaves next month...though I also really want to see Serj Tankian as well...hmmm. We'll see.:-) I wish Interpol would come back. And where is AFI? :-( So this 'winter' weather or whatever hardly lasted. I think all in all we had maybe 4 days of rain. Well, that's California for you. We don't lie when we say the sun is always shining here. Because, well...the sun is always shining. Seriously, like 9 months out of the year, it's hot. I don't like it very much cuz I'm a rain baby. I love the wet and the cold. I love the storms and the lightening and thunder so loud that it shakes your house. This sun is evil. It taunts me as if to say, "Stanzie, why do you stay all locked up in your house? How dare you? I command you to come outside. Oh, no, its too hot to wear the hoodie and sweatpants you feel most comfortable in. You MUST where tank tops and show your stomach. We want you to feel as uncomfortable and insecure as possible. Oh, you wanted to get in the pool? Oh, the water's warm now. Plus everyone else has the same exact idea as you do!!" Ugh. Don't get me wrong, I dont hate the sun. I love a little sunshine with a crisp cold. Which is one of the reasons I love SF so much...:-) School is going alright, I suppose. I'm a little worried about History. There is so much reading and it sucks cuz its in a subject that I find so extremely boring. Why can't we talk about something interesting like the Renaissance or the French Revolution? I mean...ugh, the Colonies? I'm sorry, but I'm bored to tears...:-( So yea, that's it for now. My shoulder is hurting and I have a headache that will not leave me. Besides Family Guy is on. And...well, Family Guy owns my soul.

January 4, 2008I feel so blah...So...eeyeah.... It's been raining...all...day...long. I think I woke up at around 6:30am and it was raining then. Um...it's now 6:07pm and it's still raining. I don't mind the rain. As a matter of fact, I love it. I wish I could have walked around in it today. Just go walking in the rain. But I was cautioned against it, as I only just now got over a really bad cold. I'm still getting over my sniffles. So...yea, not such a good idea maybe. I'm in a...funny sort of mood. I'm listening to Something In The Way by Nirvana and my sister is watching some cooking show on the food channel. Why would anyone watch the food channel? How retarded is that? That's when you know you should just turn the TV off and read a book when you can't find anything to watch so you resort to the food channel. Editors next month. They will be my second concert. Yay! I'm going with my sister and her bf and my little brother. My other sister has no interest in concerts. Just j-rock, squar enix, video consoles and Japan....and animes. LOL. Which is cool 8) School starts next week. I think I may be able to get my own laptop sometime at the end of this month. Oh yea, here's what I wanted to ask you guys: Mac or PC? I keep hearing Mac is the shizzle, but I've also heard that PC is good for schoolwork and blah blah blah. But only, I won't be doing only schoolwork on it, so...I dunno. What do you guys think? Okay, I'm bored and I don't want to do a tag, so just answer this questions if you guys want in your comments: What song ARE you? I've been thinking about it for a minute. My first thought was "duh. Sophisticated Lady by Duke Ellington". But not your favorite song, what song ARE you? Like, if you were a song, what song would you be? I need to think about that for a minute. I think I know...:-) Stanzie

December 23, 2007Albums I've played most this year(or top albums I've played most this year...not necessarily from 2007...)Okay, so these are the albums I've been listening to a lot this year. Like, almost everyday. I have a lot more than listed cuz I listen to music(A LOT of music) everyday, but this is all I'll put cuz I'm kinda lazy too. LOL.
Turn On The Bright Lights, Antics, Our Love To Admire, EPs/Interpol-Okay, so I've been a little semi-obsessed with these guys since I saw them for the first time in SF in October. LOL. They also happened to be my first show ever, so most say I'm ruined as to wanting to see anyone else forever, but I hope that's not true. LOL. I do dearly hope that to see them again sometime soon. Anyway, everyone one of these albums are amazing. Definatly pop 'em in to get my day going...
Okay, so there was a lot more, but that's all for now. This is a result of me being very bored and, well...not having much of a life. LOL. Oh well. I rool anyway...

November 19, 2007Wanna' hear something weird???Okay, I had been going through this period of me just feeling so darn ugly and unattractive. But after talking with some of my freinds(you know who you are) and talking long and hard with myself, I think I'm kinda starting to get over it. And...like, things are changing. It's so frickin' weird!
Like, last weeked, I was in the store and the guy at the cash register was like, "You probably get this all the time, but you are one beautiful young lady..." In my head, I was like, "no, I don't get that all the time, actually!!". But I was polite, I said thank you and such. Then he, was like, you know, really trying to flirt with me in the store with people behind me! He was like, "You have the such beautiful eyes. Oh my god, and that smile!" I was getting really, like flusterd and a little uncomfortable cuz there was people behind me, so I finally said, "okay, stop flirting and get back to work!" jokingly, of course. Not wanting to hurt his feelings or anything. But I just thought that was weird. Then today, at the store, I was walking trying to find some eye drops and this woman said to me, "My goodness, you're cute! Are you a model?" The first thing that came to mind was "heck no! I'm NO model, what are YOU seeing?" But, you know, I thanked her for the compliment, and informed her that I do not model. I had NEVER gotten that before. That's soooo weird.
I guess you people were right. Once you start loving yourself and having confidence, other people see that too. I think I really don't care what other people think or say about me, because, well, I feel alright.
I feel alright...

November 18, 2007Hehe:-)Not much of a title, but I'm feeling really lazy and fat today. LOL. I've not done much of anything all day and, as sad as it might sound, I'm still in my pajamas. Yet, I have no excuse...and I make no apologies. Everyone should spend at least 2 days a month just hanging all day in their pjs, though the very thought to some people is positively revolting. Oh well. I want to use this opportunity to thank all ya'll for adding my new page back. Much appreciated. And to the comments on my pic, thanx too. Though I just feel so naked with it up here, I had to take it down again. Oh well. At least now you guys know what I look like!
Well, I think I'm off now. I'm starving so I'm gonna' go make love to this sandwich my sis just made me:-)
Later:-)

Toxicity/System Of A Down-My brother plays drums to this album almost everyday, so unless I'm on the other part of town or listening to my own music, some song by them is always in my head. Which is just fine, cuz this is an amazing album. On my top played on my iPod this whole year...
Wincing The Night Away/The Shins- I so love this band. Their music always just puts me in such a good mood(which is kinda weird, being that a lot of the lyrics on here are quite pessimestic...). I call it my happy music. Whenever I'm feeling especially optimistic, I pop on this album:-)

CexCells/Blaqk Audio- I've never been all that into electronica, but I happen to like quite a few songs on this album. I love the sexiness in this album. I mean, it's sexy, isn't it? LOL. Anyway, definatly one of my most played albums this year. So proud of Davey and Jade...<33333333
Impressions Of Earth/The Strokes- What can I say? It makes me dance!!! LOL. Besides, The Strokes are an absolutely amazing band. Just awesome.
Decemberunderground, Sing The Sorrow, Art Of Drowning/AFI- I think, three of their best albums ever. Especially STS. Dude, I ran that album in the ground, I played it so much!!! I'm very proud of the AFI guys this year...well, I'm always proud of 'em.<3333333
Okay, seriously if you haven't checked these guys out yet, please do so immediatly. I mean, this album is so epic, it took me awhile to get over the shock!! These guys are sooooooo in my top ten!!! :-)
The Setting Suns EP/The Setting Suns- I am so in love with this EP right now. The Setting Suns is a side band of drummer Sam Fogarino from Interpol and I've never heard a band so focused on the drummer. *sighs* The music is so ambient and makes me feel so...*sighs* good. LOL. Anway, great listen. Also on my top 10. Hehe.
